Here are links to some databases at Ancestry and Rootsweb
that I have found helpful in my research. I have chosen
these because they include documentation. Some of the links below will take you directly to the Lindsey ancestor who is named, and other links are to the index page of the database. If you reach an index page, click on "L", then click
on Lindsey to see the list of individuals in the database.
Though these databases include documentation, caution is
advised in using them as not all the information is supported
with primary source citations.
If you have a database that you would like
to include here, please contact Susan Grabek.
Abigail Anthony Deeter: This database has information about the family of Jacob Lindsey Sr., b. ca. 1746, the proved ancestor of L0156. Many source documents are included.
Paula Carter Davis: This database has information
about the family of Morris Lindsey, b. ca. 1788, who is
believed to have been the ancestor of
L0203. Many source
documents are included.
J. Michael Frost: This database has information about the
family of Thomas Lindsey (b. abt. 1720). Thomas, who
died testate in Frederick Co., VA in 1769, may have been a son
or brother of Long Marsh pioneer Edmund Lindsey ( b. 1697).
There are no DNA project participants who descend from Thomas
Lindsey at this time.
Mike Marshall: The focus of this database is Charles
Co., MD from 1658-1758. Lindsey's in the database
include Edmund, b. abt. 1624, who may have been the progenitor
of our Group 2 Lindsey's in America. Jerry McGinty: The focus of this database is Jerry's ancestor, James B. F. Lindsey (1847-1930). James B. F. Lindsey was a son of Jesse Lindsey and Elizabeth T. Huff. Jesse Lindsey (1819-1849) was a son of Jacob Lindsey Jr. and his wife, Phoebe Lindsey. Although there are no descendants of James B. F. Lindsey in the Lindsay Surname DNA project, Jerry has documented the lineage of James B. F. Lindsey, and has proved that James was a grandson of Jacob Lindsey Jr. Jacob Lindsey Jr. is a documented ancestor of L0156 in our Group 2. Jerry has included numerous source documents as part of his database.
